Four members of a family, including three toddlers, were killed after a Russian drone strike hit their home in Bogodukhiv, leaving their pregnant mother and grandmother hospitalised.
A Russian drone strike has killed a father and his three young children after hitting their home in the Ukrainian community of Bogodukhiv, near the Russian border. The attack occurred just before midnight on Tuesday and resulted in a direct hit on the family’s house, which was subsequently engulfed in flames, trapping the victims inside.
The victims were identified as a 34-year-old father and his three children — two one-year-old boys and a two-year-old girl. Officials said the 35-year-old mother survived the blast but sustained serious injuries, including blast wounds and a ‘traumatic brain injury and burns,” according to officials. The children’s grandmother was also injured and remains in hospital.
The family had reportedly fled to Bogodukhiv, located about 12 miles from the Russian border, after leaving an area closer to the frontline just days earlier. The strike underscores the continuing toll of drone attacks on civilian communities amid the ongoing conflict.
