Internal documents reveal that Lagos State’s tax revenue reached “₦1,409,018,340,857.74” by October 2025. Alpha-Beta Consulting LLP, a firm long linked to President Bola Tinubu, continues to collect an “8%” commission on this total. This arrangement has funneled approximately ₦213 billion in public funds to the private firm over the last 24 months, sparking significant transparency concerns.
Financial projections suggest revenue could hit “₦2,830,000,000,000.00” in 2026, further increasing the firm’s payouts. However, former employee Segun Oluwasanmi has accused the company of systematic tax evasion. He alleged that the firm manipulated payrolls, stating, “What Alpha-Beta has been doing is this: they divided our salary into two, so that they will not pay tax on everything.”
The allegations have been escalated to the Nigeria Police, the ICPC, and the EFCC for investigation. Critics argue the 8% commission structure remains a drain on public resources. Reflecting on the internal pay structures, Oluwasanmi noted: “They were paying tax only on part of our salaries, and even on that part, they were underpaying.”
