Watch as a 32-year-old Japanese woman wore a white gown and dabbed away tears as she married an AI chatbot displayed on a smartphone screen.
Yurina Noguchi, wearing augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, tied the knot with “Klaus,” a ChatGPT bot inspired by a video game, during a ceremony in late October. She went through the motions of placing a ring on Klaus’ virtual finger.
The year before, Noguchi took ChatGPT’s advice and broke off her engagement with her real-life fiancé. The wedding is not legally recognized, but it represents a growing trend in AI romance.
A recent study found that one in five U.S. adults has had an intimate encounter with a chatbot.
