The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has informed the public that the French authority, Rappel Conso, issued a recall notice for Indomie brand Vegetable Flavour Noodles. The recall is due to undeclared allergens, specifically milk and eggs, which may pose serious health risks for consumers with allergies or intolerances.
All batches of the recalled product, with a best-before date of 06/02/2026, are affected. Although the noodles’ origin country was not stated, the French alert prompted NAFDAC to act to prevent any possible circulation of the product in Nigeria. Indomie noodles remain a popular staple due to their convenience, affordability, and versatility.
NAFDAC noted that the risk of these noodles entering Nigeria is low because of the Federal Government’s ban on noodle importation. However, the agency has directed vigilance actions at all entry points and within the country, as products could still enter via online purchases or international travel. All zonal directors and state coordinators have been instructed to monitor and remove any stock of the recalled product.
Consumers, distributors, and retailers are advised to avoid the product. NAFDAC urged the public to discard any implicated noodles and report any suspected sales or adverse reactions to the nearest NAFDAC office or via the agency’s e-reporting platform at www.nafdac.gov.ng. The agency emphasized its commitment to safeguarding public health.
