Reverend Tochukwu Agina, an Anglican Diocese priest, has detailed his assault by naval ratings at a checkpoint in Okpotouno, Anambra State. He alleges the incident stemmed from a false accusation of him making a phone call at the checkpoint.
Agina reported naval officers brutalized him and struck his scrotum with sticks following the phone call accusation. The priest confirmed the incident occurred on Sunday, November 30, around 5 p.m.
Interviewed by PUNCH Metro on Tuesday, the priest, head bandaged, recounted how the naval rating tore his clothes and caused a head injury, resulting in his garments being soaked in blood.
