Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday announced the appointment of four senators to head major standing committees, a move he said would “strengthen legislative oversight and address emerging national priorities.”
Senator Shehu Buba was named chairman of the Committee on Livestock and Animal Husbandry, Senator Abdullahi Yahaya was appointed chairman of the Committee on National Intelligence and National Security, Senator Osita Ngwu will serve as Acting Chairman of the Committee on Air Force, and Senator Musa Mustapha was named chairman of the Committee on National Planning.
Akpabio explained that the appointments were made to ensure efficiency and enable the Senate to respond effectively to pressing national issues in security, agricultural reform, and economic development.
