Peersonnel of the Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base, Escravos, have deactivated five illegal refining sites in the Niger Delta as part of Operation Delta Sanity II, recovering approximately 13,350 litres of stolen crude oil stored across multiple dugout pits and polythene sacks. Commanding Officer Navy Capt. Ikenna Okoloagu said “the significant operational successes were recorded in a series of coordinated operations” conducted between November 5 and 19, driven by actionable intelligence and the strategic directives of the Chief of Naval Staff.
He noted that the dismantled sites at Obodo Omadino in W⁶arri South-West contained thousands of litres of stolen crude oil, adding that the Navy remains committed to “dismantling illegal refining infrastructure and safeguarding Nigeria’s oil assets against economic sabotage.”
