NNPC boss vows to restore refineries, seeks ‘advanced technical partnerships

The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, announced the company is undertaking a “detailed review” and seeking “advanced technical partnerships” to restore Nigeria’s three major refineries to full, sustainable operation as part of a comprehensive National Energy Strategy.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has assured the nation that the company is taking “deliberate steps” to restore full operations at the Warri, Port Harcourt, and Kaduna refineries.

​In an X post on Wednesday, Ojulari confirmed NNPC is currently in a comprehensive technical and commercial review stage to determine the best course of action. The next phase will focus on forming “advanced technical partnerships” with select equity partners who have a track record of meeting international standards.
​Ojulari stated, “We are filled with determination! We are looking ahead with optimism to ensure our refineries operate effectively.” He added that the project is being integrated into a “National Energy Strategy” emphasizing security and asset optimization. He concluded, “We’re repositioning as a commercially driven, transparent energy company serving Nigerians.”
