Five suspects linked to the Ansaru terrorist group are set for re-arraignment on Thursday. The charges stem from the May 15 abduction and subsequent killing of two victims in Oyo State. The Department of State Services (DSS) will present an amended six-count charge before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Proceedings were delayed when the first defendant objected to representation by the Legal Aid Council, preferring their previous lawyer, Bala Dakum. The court acknowledged the defendants’ right to counsel of choice, with the judge adjourning the case for re-arraignment.
