Abia State is actively processing more returnees from South Africa following xenophobic violence. The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection is coordinating their repatriation and reintegration. Commissioner Okey Kanu also revealed eight cases of sexual and gender-based violence in the state, affecting survivors aged 4 to 25. Governor Alex Otti’s administration continues to offer assistance.
