FCT Minister Nyesom Wike stated he will not serve as the Director-General for President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign, citing the historical trend of DGs losing their home states.
Citing past elections, Wike pointed to figures like Rotimi Amaechi, Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal, and Simon Lalong, who he claims lost their states while leading campaigns.
Wike emphasized his focus on delivering for his key territories, the FCT and Rivers State, and noted his non-APC membership as another reason he cannot join the campaign council.
