Nigeria’s federal government targets six states and the FCT for a pilot ranching program to address farmer-herder conflicts. Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Maiha, announced the initiative after briefing President Bola Tinubu. Beginning at Wase Grazing Reserve in Plateau, the program aims to shift from nomadic grazing to fixed ranching, fostering economic hubs with infrastructure and a livestock identification system.
