Spidey swings past the competition. Per Nairametrics, data from Film Intelligence shows the Marvel-Sony blockbuster shattered Nigeria’s previous preview record, reflecting Hollywood franchise films’ growing commercial pull in the country.
Despite the record previews, The Odyssey remained the week’s top earner, adding N63.6 million to reach N423.8 million after two weeks. Analysts expect Spider-Man to overtake it once full weekend numbers arrive.
Elsewhere, Nollywood’s Call of My Life hit N826.2 million, retaining its spot as 2026’s top Nigerian film. Internationally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned a record $72 million in US previews, surpassing Avengers: Endgame, with a projected $260-280 million opening weekend.
