Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has inaugurated an eight-member Judicial Commission of Inquiry, chaired by Prof. Mojeed Owoade, to investigate the May 15 abduction of students and teachers in Oriire LGA.
Makinde Sets Up Panel to Probe Oyo Abduction
Answers are coming for Oyo State. Per PUNCH, Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the commission at the Executive Council Chamber in Ibadan, tasking it with establishing facts, identifying lapses, and recommending measures to prevent future abductions.
Makinde said the panel was set up not to undermine security agencies but to ensure “every lesson is learnt, every question is answered.” He gave the commission four weeks to complete its work, with room for extension if needed.
Chairman Prof. Mojeed Owoade pledged that “nothing but the truth” would shape the commission’s findings. Other members include Prof. Jibril Ibrahim, Mrs Ayo Obe, and AIG Ngozi Onadeko (retd.).
