Osun State Secretary to the Government Teslim Igbalaye and five others have been detained after police raided his residence and recovered cash, voter materials and office equipment.
Secretary to the Osun State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, and five others have been detained by the Osun State Police Command following a raid on his residence in Osogbo. Police said one of those arrested at the residence, Oladele Abiodun, was on its watchlist over alleged criminal offences.
Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi said officers recovered ₦4,810,500 in cash, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register, a Dynabook laptop, a photocopier and a printer during the operation. The arrests come amid heightened political tension ahead of the state’s governorship election.
Punch reported that the police confirmed the arrests, identified those detained and listed the items recovered during the operation. The investigation is ongoing.
