Oyo State’s electoral body, OYSIEC, has extended its deadline for party primaries to August 5, 2026. Citing a request from the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), OYSIEC Chairman Afees Adeniyi confirmed the move. The extension aims to accommodate all registered parties and ensure a credible process ahead of the December 29 local government elections. Parties now have more time to finalize candidates.
