Spain is reeling from a deadly heatwave that has killed more than 200 people since the start of the week. The Carlos III University mortality surveillance system recorded 212 excess deaths, with Wednesday alone accounting for 95 fatalities, followed by 66 on Tuesday, 38 on Monday and 13 on Sunday.
