Former Kaduna State governor and Social Democratic Party (SDP) chieftain, Nasir El-Rufai, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing a widespread disapproval rating across the country. Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, El-Rufai claimed that Tinubu has a 91% disapproval rating in the North and Southeast, and 78% in Lagos.
“In states in the Southwest like Ondo and Ekiti, he’s doing slightly better, but nowhere is his approval above 50%,” El-Rufai said. He blamed Tinubu’s poor ratings on failures in security, economic management, and trade policy.
“The guy is gone, he has performed miserably. The economy has stopped, the insecurity architecture has failed, there are no clear trade and investment policies, and everything is going wrong,” he said.
El-Rufai questioned the use of government revenues, saying: “They are raising lots of revenues but we don’t know where the revenues are going because there are no results.”
