A heavy downpour and windstorm has killed three people and displaced hundreds of residents across several communities in Yobe State.

The disaster destroyed hundreds of homes, schools, health facilities, electricity infrastructure, and farmlands, leaving many families without shelter. Several residents also sustained injuries as the storm tore through affected areas, deepening the humanitarian toll.
According to Daily Post, the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) has begun assessing the damage to determine the scale of destruction and the support needed for victims. Relief materials are expected to reach affected communities once assessments are completed.
The agency urged residents to remain vigilant through the rainy season and take precautions against further severe weather, as authorities continue monitoring the situation across the state.
