A fresh abduction of two individuals along the Idi Ayunre axis in Oyo State has intensified local fears, coming just five days after terrorists kidnapped students and teachers in the state.
Suspected terrorists have abducted two individuals along the Idi Ayunre axis of the Ijebu-Ode Road in Oluyole Local Government Area, Oyo State.
According to Parallel Fact News, heavily armed attackers ambushed the victims’ vehicle, firing repeatedly to scatter onlookers before whisking them away in a commando-like operation. The abductors have not yet contacted relatives or demanded ransom.
This ambush occurred barely five days after students and teachers were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area, escalating fears regarding renewed regional insecurity. While local vigilantes and security forces are mobilized to track the perpetrators, officials have not yet confirmed the exact number or identities of the school victims.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, verified the highway ambush. “I can confirm that the incident occurred, and investigations are currently ongoing,” DSP Ayanlade Olayinka said during a telephone conversation.
