Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general election following a direct primary across the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has announced that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has been affirmed as the APC’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general election following a direct primary held across the state.
Abiodun described the exercise as peaceful and transparent, saying Adeola was “overwhelmingly affirmed” by party members. “Today, we participated in the APC governorship direct primary election across Ogun State where Senator Adeola Yayi was overwhelmingly affirmed as the governorship candidate of our great party for the 2027 general election,” he said.
The governor added that “the exercise was peaceful, transparent, orderly, and a true reflection of the unity and internal democratic strength of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State.”
He congratulated Adeola and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the continued development of the state.
