MAKINDE VOWS REUNIFICATION, REHABILITATION FOR RESCUED ORIIRE VICTIMS
Governor Seyi Makinde says the Oyo State Government’s immediate focus is to reunite rescued schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area with their families and provide rehabilitation following their release. Peoples Gazette reports that the victims spent 56 days in captivity before security operatives rescued them.
Makinde, in a Facebook post, expressed gratitude for the safe return of the victims and commended security agencies for the successful operation. He also paid tribute to personnel who lost their lives during the mission, praying for the repose of their souls and comfort for their families.
Oyo SUBEB Chairman Nureni Adeniran described the rescue as a moment of relief for the education community, reaffirming the government’s commitment to safe schools and urging continued prayers for lasting peace and security.
