Burial arrangements have begun for Adesiyan Adegboye, the teacher killed during last week’s coordinated bandit attack on schools in Oyo State.
Burial arrangements for Adesiyan Adegboye, one of the teachers killed during last week’s coordinated attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, commenced on Thursday in Ogbomoso.
The funeral programme began at Ayegun Baptist Church, while the late teacher is expected to be buried later at his residence in the Owolake area.
Adegboye, 49, was killed during the attack on Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School, Esiele.
The incident also led to the abduction of teachers and pupils, sparking panic across affected communities.
Following the attack, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, deployed additional detectives to support rescue operations.
Governor Seyi Makinde earlier confirmed that several pupils and teachers were abducted, while one person was killed during the assault.
