Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has died after collapsing during a football match in Kaduna State. The 40-year-old reportedly slumped while playing at the Angwan Yelwa pitch in the Television area after coming on as a second-half substitute.
A source told SCORENigeria, “He slumped and died right on the spot. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.” The incident occurred without any physical contact, raising concerns over sudden medical emergencies in sports.
Eneramo, who had retired from professional football, previously featured for Beşiktaş J.K., Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and Lobi Stars F.C.. Before his death, he ran a football academy, while Nigeria’s national team paid tribute, posting, “Rest in peace Michael.”
