The Nigerian government has filed a four-count, N15 million corruption charge against former Code of Conduct Tribunal chairman Danladi Umar, the same man who once presided over President Bola Tinubu’s asset declaration trial.
FG Charges Ex-CCT Chairman Danladi Umar
The man who once judged Tinubu is now facing judgment himself.
According to a report by Peoples Gazette, the federal government has filed a fresh N15 million corruption charge against Danladi Umar, ex-chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Court filings allege Umar directed contractors to funnel money to his wife’s bank accounts and pay his children’s university tuition, all tied to CCT contracts.
The case comes up Monday before Justice U.P. Kekemeke in Abuja. Umar was removed from the CCT in November 2024 amid misconduct petitions. He could not be reached for comment.
