Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declared at the party’s 8th National Convention that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could be defeated by a “corpse in a coffin” in the 2027 elections.
At the 8th National Convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja, party chieftain Buba Galadima delivered a scathing critique of the current administration, urging opposition forces to maintain courage in the face of political intimidation. Galadima, a prominent ally of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of systematically attempting to dismantle rival political structures, including the PDP, LP, and ADC. He argued that the political climate necessitates a bold assertion of identity, insisting that no external force should dictate the country’s political behavior.
The convention served as a platform for the ADC to formalize its internal structure, resulting in the ratification of the National Working Committee led by National Chairman David Mark. In addition to leadership approvals, delegates endorsed a revised constitution, policy framework, and manifesto, signaling a strategic realignment for the party. Chairman David Mark characterized the gathering as the beginning of a “renewed political push,” expressing confidence that the party’s trajectory would lead them to the presidency by the next election cycle.
During his address, Galadima used provocative imagery to illustrate the level of public discontent he perceives toward the incumbent government, which he described as being run by a “mafioso” group. Stressing that only resilience would deliver the opposition from the current status quo, he made a bold prediction regarding the 2027 polls. “But what I want to remind them of is that even if there is no living human being in Nigeria and we bring a corpse in a coffin and put it against President Tinubu, I assure you that that corpse will win the election in 2027,” Galadima said.
