The family of Michael Oyedokun, the schoolteacher abducted and beheaded by terrorists during coordinated attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has described his death as a devastating and irreplaceable loss.
Speaking during a visit to the deceased’s hometown, family representative Ebeni Adediran said Oyedokun was a peaceful man who dedicated 21 years to teaching, saying, “He was a good man in our family and this is why his death is a big loss to us, an irreplaceable loss.”
Adediran revealed the most heartbreaking aspect of the tragedy, saying, “He did not leave any child behind. They had been married for more than 10 years and despite all their efforts, no child came out of the marriage.”
The family also appealed to Nigerians to stop circulating graphic videos of the killing, saying the footage was “deeply traumatizing for us as a family.”
