Nigerian Army troops attached to the 4 Brigade, working alongside other security agencies and the Edo State Security Corps, have arrested 12 suspected kidnappers during operations across Edo State.

The operation, codenamed Operation KO SALO, commenced on May 12, 2026, targeting criminal hideouts in Owan East and Esan South East Local Government Areas, including Ugbovbighan Village, Olelo Forest, Egoro Amede Village, and Rugan Fulani settlement.

Three suspects identified as Ishaya Obadis, Markus Ballu, and Godknows Owonoji were arrested at Olelo Forest, with two motorcycles and two mobile phones also recovered.

Preliminary investigations indicated the suspects allegedly served as collaborators and logistics suppliers for kidnapping gangs operating within the area.
