VIDEO: Teenager hacks celebrities’ WhatsApp, sells porn content to classmates in Delta

Police in Delta State have exposed a 17-year-old hacker who sold explicit content to classmates and impersonated celebrities for extortion after gaining unauthorized access to their WhatsApp accounts.

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 17-year-old boy for allegedly hacking into the WhatsApp accounts of prominent celebrities and selling explicit materials to his classmates. The Divisional Police Officer of Ugborikoko Division, Temi Agbede-Zuokumor, revealed the details during a security awareness session, noting that the suspect’s activities came to light after a routine check of his mobile device at school raised suspicions.

Investigations into the teenager’s phone uncovered over 80 foreign phone numbers, including Australian lines, alongside a vast library of pornographic content. Chats found on the device indicated that the suspect’s classmates referred to him as “boss” while purchasing explicit materials from him. Beyond the trade of prohibited content, the police discovered that the teenager had been using hacked celebrity accounts to solicit money from unsuspecting victims through digital impersonation.

The Delta Police warned that cyber-related crimes among minors are becoming increasingly sophisticated, urging parents and school authorities to maintain higher levels of vigilance. Comedian Otaghware Onodjayeke (I Go Save), who participated in the security programme, corroborated the trend by sharing his own encounter with a digital fraudster. The police emphasized that constant monitoring of children’s digital footprints is essential to preventing their involvement in high-level cybercrime.
