Popular comedian, skit maker, and social media influencer Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has been hospitalized following an alleged shooting incident in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State. The incident reportedly occurred under the Sango-Ota bridge on Sunday afternoon while the entertainer was on location with his production crew. A police source, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the content creator sustained a gunshot injury during the filming of a comedy skit. Following the emergency, his crew members immediately rushed him to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State for urgent medical intervention
Initial reports indicate that medical personnel at Blooming Care Hospital administered first aid upon his arrival to stabilize his condition. “He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” a police source confirmed. Due to the nature of the injury, Broda Shaggi was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area (GRA), Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating. The Lagos State Police Command was alerted by the hospital after the victim was brought in, and detectives have since verified his identity.
While the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed monitoring the situation at the hospital, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the incident had not been officially reported in their jurisdiction as of Friday morning. According to Lagos PPRO Abimbola Adebisi, “The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy.” Investigations into the exact circumstances of the shooting are ongoing, though the comedian’s management has yet to release a formal public statement regarding the incident.
