FG asks Nigerians to report VIPs violating police escort withdrawal

The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to help enforce President Bola Tinubu’s directive withdrawing police escorts from VIPs, urging citizens to document any violations. Presidential media aide Daniel Bwala said during a TVC interview that, “If you identify a celebrity, a private sector person or any person who has the police against the executive order of the president, as much as you can capture evidence, whether a photograph or video,” they should report it.

He noted that the order is not blanket for all government officials, explaining that some may still receive protection from the SSS or Civil Defence instead of the police. Bwala added that anyone who undermines the directive is violating the Constitution, saying Nigerians should “get the record, get the picture, get anything,” to ensure accountability.
