The Federal Government has warned job seekers against seven common mistakes, including paying for offers and using unofficial portals, that could hurt their chances during public service recruitment.
The Federal Character Commission has identified seven common errors applicants should avoid when seeking government jobs, warning that such mistakes could cost them consideration. The advisory forms part of efforts to guide Nigerians applying for public service positions.
According to The PUNCH, the commission listed the mistakes as paying for job offers, using unofficial recruitment portals, submitting multiple applications, giving false information, uploading incomplete documents, ignoring eligibility requirements and failing to follow application instructions.
The commission clarified that it does not recruit for ministries, departments or agencies, and urged applicants to rely only on verified government channels. It warned that government jobs are not for sale.
