ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar wants answers — and he wants them fast.
In a statement by his aide, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku demanded an immediate forensic review of the 2026 Appropriation Act, saying the ₦210 billion in overlapping allocations, paired with Nigeria’s weak prosperity rankings, exposes what he called fiscal recklessness by the Tinubu administration, according to Vanguard.
He pointed to NNPC’s 2024 accounts showing ₦7.13 trillion in “Energy Security Expenses,” despite claims subsidy ended in 2023, and linked the discrepancies to falling living standards nationwide.
Atiku urged the Auditor-General and anti-corruption bodies to investigate independently, recover misappropriated funds, and hold officials accountable. He pledged that an ADC government would enforce transparent, zero-based budgeting and digital expenditure tracking.
