Sowore has pledged to reverse the naming of public assets after President Tinubu and his allies if he wins the 2027 presidential election.
Sowore: I’ll Undo Tinubu-Named Facilities If Elected in 2027
African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has vowed to strip President Bola Tinubu’s name — and those of other officials — off highways and national institutions, should he clinch the presidency in 2027.
In a Facebook post on Friday, according to PUNCH Online, Sowore blasted the trend as glorifying a regime he says “impoverished Nigeria,” promising a #Sowore2027 government would reverse it “as a matter of urgency.”
His outburst followed Works Minister David Umahi’s Thursday announcement renaming the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Coastal Highway, honouring what Umahi called Tinubu’s 27-year-old dream for the project.
Umahi also revealed a 400km extension to the Fourth Mainland Bridge project, alongside fresh work on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
