Nigeria’s Inflation Rate Slows To 15.91% In June
Nigeria’s headline inflation rate slowed marginally to 15.91 per cent in June from 15.93 per cent in May, the National Bureau of Statistics said in its latest Consumer Price Index report released Wednesday, according to Vanguard.
The dip was driven by a decrease in the core basket to 15.92 per cent, even as food inflation rose to 17.52 per cent from 16.96 per cent, fuelled by price changes in crayfish, tomatoes, yam, and beef, among others.
On a state basis, Kogi, Niger, and Benue recorded the highest year-on-year food inflation, while Katsina, Rivers, and Imo posted the slowest increases.
