ICPC ACCUSES EL-RUFAI OF BREACHING MEDICAL VISIT, ARRESTS DOCTOR

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has accused former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of breaching a court-approved medical visit and arrested his personal doctor, Professor Bello Abubakar, PUNCH reports.

The ICPC said El-Rufai skipped his accelerated trial on July 6, insisting on seeing his physician, though no prior medical consultation request had been made. It said officers stayed outside the consultation room at El-Rufai’s family’s request during Tuesday’s hospital visit, but later found Facebook photos posted by ADC’s Isa Ashiru Kudan showing El-Rufai with several visitors, including Abubakar, during the scheduled consultation period.

The commission called this a “clear violation” of the court order and said Abubakar had been taken into custody for further investigation. The case resumes July 15.
