18 APC FIRST-TERM GOVS CONDEMN XENOPHOBIC ATTACKS, BACK TINUBU
Eighteen first-term governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have condemned recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, describing them as unacceptable, The Nation reports.
In a communiqué issued after a closed-door meeting at the Kebbi State Government House, the governors said Nigerians’ sacrifices amid ongoing economic reforms had not gone unnoticed, appealing for continued public support as the reforms take effect.
The forum also condemned rising insecurity, including attacks and abductions involving schoolchildren, calling for swift action to protect citizens. Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, who read the communiqué, said governors seeking re-election would rely on achievements in agriculture, healthcare, security and education. The governors reaffirmed full support for the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda.
