We are not part of them – Fulani Christians reject link with Miyetti Allah

The Fulani Christian Association of Nigeria has formally denied any affiliation with Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and MACBAN, condemning their alleged links to violence following their designation as terrorist organizations by the U.S. Congress.

The Fulani Christian Association of Nigeria (FCAN) has officially distanced itself from Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) after the United States Congress classified both organizations as terrorist entities. Speaking at a symposium in Miango, Plateau State, FCAN Chairman Buba Aliyu clarified that while his members share the Fulani ethnicity, they have long rejected these groups for their alleged support of bandits and armed militants who occupy local lands and kill indigenes.

Aliyu emphasized that FCAN is a peaceful fellowship of believers, stating, “The Fulani Christian Association of Nigeria is a fellowship of Fulani believers in Christ. We are not part of Miyetti Allah or MACBAN and we do not support violence. Our faith teaches us peace and respect for human life.” Despite facing death threats including messages telling him he is a “walking corpse” Aliyu urged Nigerians to stop stereotyping the entire ethnic group based on the actions of criminal elements, noting that “those involved in crimes do not represent the entire community.”
