Pupils and teachers rescued from captivity in Oyo State’s Orire Local Government Area have thanked President Tinubu and security agencies in a video shared by the Presidency.

Relief and gratitude poured out on camera Friday as the freed Oyo pupils and teachers thanked President Tinubu for their rescue. “We are grateful, Mr President, sirโฆ We could see it in your heart,” one victim said in a video shared by the Presidency, also praising the security operatives who fought for their release, according to Punch.
The victims had spent 56 days in captivity after being abducted from schools in Orire Local Government Area. Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga had earlier confirmed their rescue on X, writing, “Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies.”
