President Bola Tinubu has directed the ICPC to investigate a fictitious “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” and all those linked to it, including Gbajabiamila, with a report due in 30 days.
TINUBU ORDERS ICPC PROBE OF FAKE PRESIDENTIAL COUNCIL SCANDAL
President Tinubu has ordered the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council,” a body the presidency says was never established by the federal government, according to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
One Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew allegedly posed as the council’s director-general, claiming falsely to be a presidential appointee. The ICPC is to probe forged appointment letters, fraudulent bank accounts opened in government agencies’ names, and attempts to secure diplomatic recognition using fake documents. Tinubu wants the report within 30 days and has ordered all MDAs to cooperate with the commission’s inquiries, Peoples Gazette reports.
