The sixth batch of 40 Nigerians evacuated from South Africa after xenophobic attacks has landed in Lagos. Announced by NiDCOM, the returnees thanked President Tinubu for their immediate evacuation. Officials from Nigeria’s High Commission and various government agencies were present to receive them.
Financial support packages were announced, including ₦1 million for returnees from Imo State, donated SIM cards and cash from MTN, and aid from Edo and Delta state governments.
