Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho has urged the Federal Government and South-West governors to approve his proposed security network to combat kidnappings and banditry in the region.
Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has called on the Federal Government and South-West governors to approve the operation of the Iru Ekun Security Network to tackle insecurity in the region.
In a statement issued on Tuesday following recent school attacks in Oyo State, Igboho said the proposed outfit was prepared to flush out kidnappers, bandits and criminal herders from forests across Yorubaland.
“I’m only awaiting the approval of the government to tackle growing insecurity ravaging the South-West headlong,” he said.
Igboho added that all necessary procedures for the security network had been completed, pending approval from the Federal Government and security agencies.
“What happened in Ahoro-Esinele community and other previous security breaches are sad, unfortunate, and worrisome,” he said.
The attacks in Oriire Local Government Area led to the abduction of pupils and teachers, while a kidnapped teacher, Michael Oyedokun, was later killed.
