NYSC says it will blacklist employers who fail to provide accommodation and transportation for corps members posted to their organisations.
NYSC To Blacklist Employers Denying Corps Members Accommodation, Transport
The National Youth Service Corps plans to blacklist employers who fail to provide housing and transportation for corps members under their care, according to Punch Newspapers.
Director-General Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu announced the move during a working visit to Kogi State, warning that defaulting employers would lose access to Corps services entirely.
Nafiu urged organisations to improve welfare for corps members, saying better support boosts productivity. He also reassured corps members of federal commitment to their security, and encouraged discipline, entrepreneurship training, and financial savings during their service year.
NYSC’s Kogi State Coordinator, Mrs Tochi Chika Chris-Moneke, commended the visit and revealed plans for an employers’ workshop and a rural health initiative in the coming weeks.
