The NDLEA has dismantled Nigeria’s largest-ever clandestine methamphetamine factory in Ogun State, arresting a Nigerian drug baron, three Mexican meth experts and six collaborators while recovering N480 billion worth of the substance.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has dismantled the largest methamphetamine production factory ever discovered in Nigeria, located inside a forest in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, recovering N480 billion worth of the drug and arresting 10 persons including three Mexican nationals.
NDLEA Chairman Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa identified the cartel’s mastermind as Anochili Innocent, arrested at his Lekki, Lagos residence, alongside three Mexican meth experts — Martinez Felix Nemecto, Jesus López Valles and Torrero Juan Carlos — brought in specifically to produce the drug.
Marwa warned, “No matter how deep into the bush you hide, no matter how secure your gated estate is, the NDLEA will hunt you down, disrupt your networks, and seize your ill-gotten wealth.”
A total of 2,419.48 kilograms of methamphetamine worth $362.9 million was recovered from the operation.
