After nearly two months in captivity, pupils and teachers freed from their abductors have joyfully reunited with their families. The victims received immediate medical attention and psychological support at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital before being reunited with loved ones. The kidnapping occurred on May 15, 2026, when assailants targeted three schools in Oyo State’s Oriire Local Government Area. Sadly, one teacher was killed during the ordeal.
