Oyo South Senator Sarafadeen Alli has defeated former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu to clinch the All Progressives Congress governorship ticket in Oyo State.
Oyo South Senator, Sarafadeen Alli, has emerged winner of the Oyo State All Progressives Congress governorship primary election, defeating former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who resigned from his ministerial position to contest the seat.
Alli polled 578,143 votes, while Adelabu garnered 19,193 votes alongside one other contestant.
However, Adelabu alleged that the primary was manipulated, making the claim while speaking with journalists after voting at his ward.
“I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards. Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions.
“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked,” he said.
