The Court of Appeal in Abuja has denied a bail request from jailed former Acting Accountant-General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Nwabuoku. He is appealing his conviction for laundering N868.5 million.
The appellate court’s three-member panel found Nwabuoku’s application to be without merit. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully argued against his release, stating he failed to provide sufficient grounds for bail post-conviction.
