According to a directive from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the sale of forms for all elective positions is scheduled to commence this Saturday, April 25, and will run through Saturday, May 2, 2026. This announcement follows the recent enactment of the Electoral Act 2026 and the revised Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, which have shifted primary election windows to the second quarter of 2026.
According to the newly released schedule, the party’s presidential primary election is slated to take place between Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, 2026. This will be followed by a series of legislative and executive primaries throughout the remainder of the month. The House of Representatives primaries are scheduled for Monday, May 18, while the Senate primaries will hold on Wednesday, May 20. The State House of Assembly primaries are set for Thursday, May 21, and the process will culminate with the governorship primaries on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The party also provided a detailed breakdown of the total costs for nomination and expression of interest forms across all levels of government. Aspirants seeking a seat in the State House of Assembly will pay a total of N6,000,000, while those eyeing the House of Representatives must provide N10,000,000. Senatorial forms have been pegged at N20,000,000, and the governorship form will cost N50,000,000. By maintaining the N100 million price point for the presidency—the same fee used during the 2023 cycle—the party appears to be prioritizing financial capability alongside political viability as it prepares to defend its mandate in the 2027 polls.
