Bayern Munich bid for Lookman rejected as Tottenham, Galatasaray circle

Atalanta refuse Bayern’s loan bid for Lookman, insisting on a €50m permanent deal. Spurs and Galatasaray could swoop.

Bayern Munich’s attempt to sign Ademola Lookman has been rejected by Atalanta, according to multiple reports. The Bundesliga giants proposed a paid loan with an option to buy for €28m, but The Athletic and Sky Sport Italia confirm the Italian club turned it down, demanding a permanent sale worth €50m.

Lookman, who has been training separately after going AWOL in protest, was promised a move abroad this summer. Atalanta had already rejected Inter Milan’s €42m plus bonuses offer to keep the Nigeria international out of Serie A rivals’ reach.

Despite Bayern’s failed approach, Sky Sports Germany claims Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray are also interested and could meet Atalanta’s conditions for an outright purchase.

Bayern’s move for Lookman follows their collapsed deal for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who returned to London after a medical mix-up.
