President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency Board, alongside 25 other appointments across 10 federal government agencies and commissions, effective immediately.
President Bola Tinubu has appointed the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Board.
The President also made 25 other appointments to 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with the appointments contained in a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja.
According to the statement, as reported by Vanguard, all the appointments take immediate effect.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced 26 new appointments to 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, emerging as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and Major General Junaid Bindawa as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission,” the statement read.
Fayose will head the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors. The incumbent Director-General of the agency, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors make up the remaining board members.
President Tinubu also made eight other appointments to the Wages Commission alongside Major General Bindawa. Former Lagos House of Representatives member, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named the commission’s new secretary, while Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun, and Yakubu Umar Barde — representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna respectively — were appointed as commissioners.
Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi) were also appointed as members of the commission.
In a separate move, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has now been redeployed to the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission as secretary.
